NCP - Bulgaria presents its development and future priorities at the meeting of the Working Group for Responsible Business Conduct

On March 6-7, 2024, the head of the NCP-Bulgaria and Executive Director of the Bulgarian SMEs Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) – Boyko Takov, PhD. attended the meeting of the Working Group on Responsible Business Conduct (WPRBC), which was held at the headquarters of the OECD in Paris. At the meeting, NCP-Bulgaria took part in the session on the accession of Bulgaria. The presentation to the WPRBC about Bulgaria’s accession took place on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

During the WPRBC meeting, the topics of environment, climate change, as well as responsible business conduct policies were included in the agenda, which were discussed by all the delegates present, representatives of the acceding and non-accredited countries. Another topic that was commented on was the peer reviews of the contact points of Poland, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Hungary and Slovenia. The Bulgarian NCP participated in the peer review of the Polish contact point in June 2023.

At the meeting, the head of NCP-Bulgaria presented the development of the contact point in the last years since its establishment. He also presented a detailed presentation, adding that this year NCP will emphasize the promotion of NCP in social networks, as well as the development of the existing ones. Another thing he presented was the possibility of incorporating AI into the site of the point. All this was followed by an initial discussion with the WPRBC.

In connection with the accession assessment, which is related to Bulgaria’s responsible business conduct policies and is planned for discussion at the June meeting of the WPRBC, a fact-finding mission will be organized by the OECD in Sofia in April, for which an organization will be responsible the Bulgarian contact point.
