The survey on awareness and integration of the SDGs by companies covered 1,422 companies of all sizes from France, Bulgaria, Spain, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey and Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The leading country was France, and in Bulgaria it was carried out by the Bulgarian Network of the UN Global Compact in partnership with BSK and the National Contact Points for Responsible Business Conduct at the OECD. It was presented during UN week in New York.
We share with you some of the important results:
➡ 69% of the surveyed European companies say that they have in-depth knowledge of the SDGs, of Bulgaria – 52%
➡ 59% of the companies integrate the SDGs in their strategy, for Bulgaria – 43%.
➡ 87% of the European companies that will report on CSRD will refer to the SDGs, for Bulgaria – 72%;
➡ SDGs 8 decent work, 5 equality and 13 climate changes are the top 3 goals for which business in Europe works, in Bulgaria the top 3 SDGs are 16 – good governance, 3 good health and 1 poverty eradication;
However, this progress is not enough to achieve the 2030 Agenda and recommendations include:
➡ enhanced integration of the SDGs into the activities and processes of companies
➡ setting ambitious goals and indicators,
➡ clear link with financial investments,
➡ more vivid communication,
➡ more and better partnerships for the Goals.
