The Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA), in its capacity as the National Contact Point of Bulgaria for Responsible Business Conduct (NCP), is organizing a panel discussion on the topic “Responsible Business Conduct – Beyond Compliance”, 50th Anniversary of the OECD MNE Guidelines, within the framework of the sixth edition of the Green Transition Forum 6.0 on June 2, 2026 at the Sofia event center.

The Green Transition Forum is a key event that has established itself as a symbol of green innovation and sustainability in Central and Eastern Europe. With a tradition of promoting environmental responsibility, this annual forum is the most anticipated event for politicians, business leaders and sustainability experts in the region.

The 2026 edition is dedicated to Europe’s new strategic agenda, exploring how the European Union can translate its long-term priorities into real action – by strengthening competitiveness, accelerating innovation and ensuring security in a dynamically changing global world.

Within the framework of the forum, the National Contact Point of Bulgaria for Responsible Business Conduct (NCP) is organizing a panel discussion on the topic “Responsible Business Conduct – Beyond Compliance”, 50th Anniversary of the OECD MNE Guidelines.

The main objective of the panel discussion is to draw attention to responsible business conduct and the OECD Guidelines — considered not only as a tool for successful business development, but also as a fundamental approach that companies should follow in building an ethical, social and ecological environment.

To support businesses in the process of implementing the principles of responsible business conduct, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has established a special mechanism — National Contact Points (NCPs) in member states and acceding countries. In the context of its path to accession and full membership in the OECD, Bulgaria established a NCP, which is responsible for promoting the OECD Guidelines for Responsible Business Conduct and serves as an extrajudicial mechanism for resolving cases of non-compliance (referred to as “specific cases”).
