As part of the "Building Bridges" initiative of Lidl Bulgaria, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Shell Bulgaria, today,
October 2, 2025, the second training in the series, led by Lidl Bulgaria, was held in the building of the
Bulgarian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA).

The main topic was related to the legal aspects of equality and various forms of discrimination. Lawyer Mileslava Bogdanova,
who was the speaker at the event, presented various case studies and gave some guidance and advice to the participants.

The topic of the upcoming adoption and implementation of the European Pay Transparency Directive and its consequences was
also under discussion. June 7, 2026 is the deadline for Bulgaria to transpose the provisions of the directive into its
legislation.

BSMEPA, in its capacity as the National Contact Point of Bulgaria for Responsible Business Conduct,
considers the topic to be extremely important and supports the thesis that enterprises, regardless of their size, sector,
ownership and structure, must respect human rights. That is why it is important for enterprises to know the legal provisions
and to actively participate in the dialogue to address actual and potential adverse impacts on human rights and to take adequate
measures to identify and prevent them, as stated in the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business
Conduct.
