In the fall of 2025, the Bulgarian Network of the UN Global Compact (part of the Working group of the Bulgarian NCP)  will hold for the first time in Bulgaria Peer Learning Groups (PLG) – working groups that bring together representatives of companies for knowledge exchange, discussion on real business challenges and collaborative learning in the context of sustainable development.

PLG working groups are held in a series of facilitated discussion meetings , during which companies exchange experiences, share how they solve problems, receive information on how to structure and link the topic to their business, etc. They are intended only for members of the organization, both large companies and small and medium-sized enterprises. This year, the Bulgarian network will conduct this training format on two topics – “Gender Equality” and “Sustainability for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises”.

The working groups will be facilitated by the Network team and will offer access to selected materials from the UN Global Compact Academy . Participants will prepare in advance and work on real-life case studies during the meetings.

Two working groups will be organized in 2025:

SME Sustainability Working Group (SME PLG)

Suitable for both SMEs and large companies working with their suppliers or partners. The aim is to build a systematic approach to sustainability. Topics include:

  • Sustainability Basics – Why It’s Important for Business
  • Developing a sustainable business strategy
  • Implementing sustainable practices: climate action
  • Implementing sustainable practices: human rights
Working Group: Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination (Gender Equality PLG)

Focus on building an inclusive work environment, equal access to opportunities and good practices for fair human capital management. The sessions will be led by an experienced facilitator and will include case studies from real companies.
